Tua Tagovailoa is allegedly not being paid by the Miami Dolphins his market value.

Tua Tagovailoa, who spent his first three years in the NFL being limited by injury, has finished his best-ever NFL season. For the first time in his career, he started every one of the 17 games, set a record for throwing yards in the NFL, and guided the Miami Dolphins to the second-highest scoring offense in the league.

Miami may be sure they’ve discovered their franchise quarterback even though the Dolphins eventually fell well short of their expectations after clashing with the Super Bowl-bound Kansas City Chiefs in what appeared to be the second coming of the Ice Bowl.

However, the Dolphins haven’t been able to come to an agreement on a contract worth for their 26-year-old cornerstone for whatever reason. Tagovailoa now has a $23.1 million deal through the conclusion of the season, but he will be a free agency after that. Furthermore, it is common knowledge that entering the free agency market might result in exorbitant costs.

The Dolphins are aware that any team without a franchise quarterback is likely to be a significant factor in Tagovailoa’s free-agency process. This offseason, we’ve seen a number of different quarterbacks receive enormous contracts. From Jared Goff’s four-year, $212 million deal to Trevor Lawrence’s five-year, $275 million contract, players are continuously shifting the landscape of the highest-paid quarterback position.

The Dolphins of Miami will not give Tua Tagovailoa “Jared Goff money.”
However, Tagovailoa lands where? Spotrac estimates that his market value is $52.6 million per year. This would put him slightly behind Goff’s $53 million yearly value.

However, it appears that the Dolphins believe Tagovailoa isn’t even worth the current market value.

As to Jeff Darlington and Omar Kelly of ESPN, the Dolphins are refusing to budge in the negotiations. They will not even match Goff’s offseason contract.

What is Tagovailoa’s opinion about this? He previously stated, “The market is the market,” which may suggest that both he and his agency are aware of his value. However, it appears that the Dolphins disagree, which is why the process of finalizing a transaction has taken so long.
