The most recent statement made by Kristjaan Speakman at Sunderland won’t give Regis Le Bris much confidence.

Regis Le Bris might not feel too confident after hearing remarks from Sunderland’s sporting director Kristjaan Speakman during the summer transfer window.

Regis Le Bris, a Frenchman, was named Sunderland’s next head coach in June, capping a four-month search.

Since then, the Black Cats have started what might yet be a very successful summer at the Stadium of Light by adding seasoned Championship midfielder Alan Browne on a free transfer.

One may argue that the success of Sunderland in the 2024–25 Championship season is largely dependent on Kristjaan Speakman’s actions during this summer’s transfer window.

Sunderland needs a striker once more, and Speakman recently said that the team intends to recruit a new attacker this summer.
