Team News: Adams returns to the lineup for Eintracht Frankfurt friendly

Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz will feature a rotated but strong starting lineup Tuesday as the boys in purple kick host Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt for an 8 p.m. international friendly at Lynn Family Stadium.

Cruz made seven changes from a weekend win in USL Championship play over Monterey Bay FC, chief among them the return of captain Kyle Adams. The defender has been sidelined since June with a foot injury and earned the start against Europa League-bound Frankfurt, which is visiting as part of its 2024-2025 preseason.

Adams reclaimed his center back role on a defensive line with Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch. Behind them, rookie Ryan Troutman — a Louisville native out of Trinity High School — will make his first professional start in goal.

Amadou Dia (left) and Jansen Wilson (right) will man the wings in LouCity’s regular 5-2-3 shape. Niall McCabe will start in the midfield alongside Elijah Wynder, who scored his career-high fifth goal of the year in the Monterey Bay game.

Evan Davila, Wilson Harris and Dylan Mares make up LouCity’s front three.

An oversized bench — permitted under terms of the exhibition — sees Adrien Perez available to play for the first time since he was injured back in June. City also rostered a number of LouCity Academy standouts for the occasion as defenders Brandon Dayes and Baxter Hurt, along with midfielder Grayson Travis, look to make their club debuts.

Coverage of LouCity-Frankfurt will air locally on My58 TV and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7 with national streaming available via ESPN+.
