Sam Burgess departed South Sydney Rabbitohs under cloud a few weeks after it was reported he would be the next head coach of Warrington Wolves, but the Wire boss has finally cleared the air.

After serving as an assistant coach at South Sydney once more, Burgess abruptly quit a fortnight after Warrington’s manager was appointed, right in the middle of the team’s awful form.

Although Souths stated that Burgess’ departure was made to give him more time to concentrate on his future role on Wire and the birth of his child, there were rumors that he had a falling out with head coach Jason Demetriou, who was fired earlier in the season.

Sam Burgess, who just extended his contract with Warrington, corrected misconceptions about his departure during an interview with Eddie Hemmings on the “Eddie & Stevo Podcast.”
