SAD NEWS: The Blue Jays Utilized Their Rentals to the Fullest at the Deadline

At this year’s trade deadline, the Toronto Blue Jays were among the top sellers, sending seven players off the active roster in return for 14 new players, 12 of whom are in the organization’s farm system helping to bolster its depth of prospects.

The Jays acquired three pitchers and eleven position players in all. Ryan Yarbrough, a southpaw, was the lone veteran player they acquired in any trades.

obtained in exchange for RHP Trevor Richards from the Minnesota Twins
Jay Harry, an infielder, was a sixth-round selection of the Twins last summer. Prior to the trade, he played the whole 2024 season at High-A. Harry posted a slash line of.214/.306/.349 with 39 RBIs and a.655 OPS across 295 at-bats while playing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
