Reunited with the former Easter Road captain at the SPFL club, the former Hibs player’s transfer succeeds on its second try.
After playing together for Hibs, the two are now back together thanks to a transfer.
David Wotherspoon, a former Hibs teammate, has joined James McPake’s Dunfermline squad.
After spending last season at Dundee United and Inverness, the Canadian international signed a one-year contract with the Scottish Championship team. After leaving St Johnstone last summer, Wotherspoon came close to signing with the Pars, but the details were not negotiated, and McPake signed him on the second try.
Now 34, Wotherspoon started his career at Easter Road and made 155 appearances, featuring alongside McPake who captained Hibs in his time at the club. The latter mentioned Hibs when discussing his latest Dunfermline move to club media: “This is a player who less than two years ago was part of a squad and came on in a World Cup. Before he came in to train with us last summer, he was at the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Canada.
