REPORT: The star of Melbourne will miss the rest of the season due to injury…..

Charlie Spargo, a small forward, will be sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 AFL season while he recovers from surgery on his Achilles.

Spargo participated in the club’s Opening Round game, but ever since, he has been sidelined with an Achilles injury.

In an update on Wednesday morning, Simon Goodwin confirmed that Spargo’s season is coming to an end.

For Charlie and us, it’s awful, Goodwin remarked. This year, he has had trouble with his Achilles, and after trying a number of different treatments, surgery is now required.

“His absence has been deeply felt. We have felt the loss of his special skill set on the squad.

“Charlie’s recuperation and making sure he resumes his best form with his good effect back in the club environment are our top priorities right now.

“We will start his therapy after the surgery and concentrate on reintegrating him into the group.

“As a team and as a club, we have a critical seven weeks ahead of us, and Charlie continues to be a vital role in inspiring and leading the group with the players that are available.”
