Travis Bazzana, a former star for the Oregon State Beavers, signs a contract with the Cleveland Guardians…
The Cleveland Guardians announced on Friday that Travis Bazzana had signed a contract, thus starting his professional baseball career.
The Guardians withheld the conditions of the agreement’s finances. Bazzana, the top choice in the 2024 Major League Baseball draft, signed for $8.95 million, according to Jim Callis of MLB.com. That sum was less than the $10.57 million slot value for the first overall selection.
“With the identity of the way the Guardians play the game, this is where I wanted to be,” Bazzana said to reporters. “I wanted to be in a place where I could flourish.” “They knew I wanted to be a Guard, but I trusted my amazing agents.”
Bazzana also discovered the start of his professional career. At a news conference on Friday, the former Oregon State Beavers standout informed the media that he anticipates being sent to Cleveland’s High-A minor league affiliate, the Lake County Captains. He hopes to join the Captains for a game at some point next week.
