REPORT: Giants’ “pretty low-brow” mocking of Heeney video, according to Swans CEO, “wouldn’t have done it.”
The Sydney star’s attempt to clear his name for a contentious strike on St Kilda’s Jimmy Webster at both the AFL Tribunal and the Appeals Board was unsuccessful, so Heeney took to the Swans’ social media platforms with a video message for supporters. “Obviously extremely disappointed with that result, it’s pretty shattering to be honest,” Heeney said. GWS’ hilarious, viral parody of Heeney’s much-maligned video following his one-match suspension appears not to be well-received by the Swans.
“I just wanted to jump on here and give a heartfelt thank you.
“I can guarantee one thing, and that’s when I’m back, I’ll make sure I do this club proud, the supporters proud, my family proud.”
