The 2024 NHL Entry Draft and July 1st, the start of free agency, are quickly approaching. Before the free agent frenzy begins, general managers are attempting to determine the best course of action with their teams. The unexpected Nashville Predators are hoping to capitalize on their progress. The ongoing contract negotiations involving a significant portion of the team’s success are the subject of this episode of NHL rumors.

Evaluation: We haven’t given everyone an update on Saros’s condition in a while. That being said, the news has been released almost every day. Saros was reported in a previous edition of 32 Thoughts to wait to sign a new contract until he saw what the New York Rangers would offer goalie Igor Shesterkin. Some employees of the company, meanwhile, took exception at Friedman’s reporting.

Those involved, according to one of them, are all hopeful that a new deal can be concluded. Saros’s contract is set to expire on July 1st, but he has one more year left to sign it. Starting next month, a player who is approaching the end of their current contract can sign a new one.
