In recent days, a lot of rumors about possible additions to St Andrew’s have been circulating.

Birmingham City has already acquired a player for the summer.

Hull City’s Ryan Allsop has been brought in as a much-needed addition, as Neil Etheridge is expected to be released at the end of the month and John Ruddy has not yet signed a new contract.

Despite Allsop’s arrival, the Blues still have a lot of work ahead of them in the months to come with Etheridge, Gary Gardner, Scott Hogan, Marc Roberts, and Ivan Sunjic are all being released and Emanuel Aiwu, Oliver Burke, Andre Dozzell, Cody Drameh, and Jay Stansfield returning to their parent clubs.

In order to compete for promotion, Birmingham must strengthen their roster in light of these departures.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Blues sign a large number of players in the first few days of the summer transfer market in their probable effort to be fully ready for the upcoming season, which begins in less than two months.

Even though they now have a few great first-team players at their disposal, their relegation will mean they need to bring in more new players.

We’ve looked at the most recent transfer rumors regarding the Midlands club down below.

Birmingham City wants to hire Dan Scarr.

Football Insider reports that the Blues have begun negotiations to sign Dan Scarr, a center-back for Plymouth Argyle.

In the latter half of the 2023–24 season, the center defender—who made 31 appearances in competition—was among the first names on the squad sheet.

The fact that the player’s contract expires in 2025 may make him a cheap choice for Chris Davies’ team, but he could wind up falling to the third tier.

Scarr might be one of the several center-back acquisitions that the team will require in the upcoming weeks due to the departures of Aiwu and Roberts.

After winning promotion with Plymouth at the end of the 2022–2023 season, he might be a good fit for St Andrew’s should he decide to sign.

Birmingham City will have to fight to get Joe Morrell.

A free agent, Joe Morrell, a midfielder for Portsmouth, is expected to leave Fratton Park, and Birmingham is rumored to be in the running for him.

Although Pompey might have continued with his contract, they chose to negotiate with the Welshman.

Since no deal has been reached and there is growing interest in signing him, the promoted team may lose the central midfield player.

According to journalist Phil Cadden, the player is being pursued by the Blues, Queens Park Rangers, and Wrexham, a third-tier team.

Birmingham might have to put together a compelling package in order to persuade Morrell to go to the Midlands, keeping QPR’s interests in mind.
