Lincoln City: Younger Exits and a Former Birmingham City Man Signs

Lincoln City has had a busy week as they have announced the signing of a new goalkeeper and the exit of an existing one.
First, they disclosed that Zach Jeacock, a promising goalkeeper, has left Birmingham City to join the SkyBet League One team.
Subsequently, word spread that Sam Long had permanently switched to SkyBet League Two newcomers Bromley from the Imps.
Just One In…
Jeacock has agreed to a two-year contract with Lincoln City, with an option for an additional year.
The 23-year-old left Birmingham this summer after the Blues were relegated from the Championship. He had joined the team when he was eight years old. He made four appearances in the first team before leaving the squad by mutual consent.
The former England youth international spent three loan stints away from St Andrews, at Gloucester City, Salford City, and Stourbridge Swifts, where he acquired first-team experience. He played in four League Two games and the Papa Johns Trophy for the latter.
Lincoln has added Jeacock as their sixth acquisition of the summer transfer window.

An Additional Exit…
Sam Long, a former scholar, has permanently switched his route through the door at Lincoln City in the opposite direction from the LNER Stadium.
At 16, he became a member of the Imps, and in 2020, he signed his first professional contract. The next year, he made his debut against Manchester United’s under-21 team in a Papa Johns Trophy match.
Later in the 2021–2022 season, Long made his league debut, winning 2-1 away to Plymouth Argyle.
During his tenure with the Imps, the 21-year-old has also been out on loan at Gainsborough Trinity, Drogheda United, Bromley, and Falkirk. However, he will now make a permanent return to Hayes Lane.
Views expressed by Under the Rader Business from Lincoln City:
This summer, Lincoln City has already made some thoughtful upgrades to the park. Zach Jeacock is a promising goalie that Birmingham felt comfortable enough to trust with over a dozen Championship games.
He is ranked number three, behind new signing Jamie Pardington and newcomer Lukas Jensen. According to Jez George’s statement, he will be sent on loan prior to the forthcoming campaign.
Sam Long attended the Imps’ youth academy and is expected to gain more playing time by relocating permanently. With this acquisition, Bromley has a “keeper with potential” who, fortunately, has prior club experience.
