Leeds United wants to replace Crysencio Summerville with a £20 million Championship winger.

After completing his medicals with West Ham, Crysencio Summerville just needs a few elements to be finalized before making an official announcement at Leeds United. The Whites are looking for a new winger to replace Summerville and maybe Willy Gnonto if he goes after the Dutchman’s departure.

Leeds will be forced by this to make the winger position a top priority. The Whites have made the decision to go after Plymouth Argyle winger Morgan Whittaker among the players on the market. Football Scotland claims that Wayne Rooney’s team is willing to pay £10 million for the Englishman.

This can be a great bargain for the West Yorkshire side as they’ll save £15 million for Summerville’s replacement. Gnonto’s possible sale might also add to their transfer budget which they could use to improve squad depth. The sale of both wingers might get around £50 million in transfer fees.

Leeds United eye 19-goal Championship star

Gnonto might as well leave Leeds as the Italian and Summerville were close buddies at Elland Road. Reports say that they lived close by and also arrived at training together. Wilfried will probably want out following the departure of his best mate from the club.

For Whittaker, Leeds are not the only suitors in the market. Glasgow outfit Rangers are also behind Morgan’s services. The Scottish Premiership side already had two offers rejected by Plymouth. It’s not that The Pilgrims wouldn’t let the winger go but they’ll do so for the right price.

As mentioned above, Argyle value the winger at around £10 million. Rangers probably submitted low bids just to test the waters but they are serious regarding the English winger.

Even if Gnonto doesn’t leave, Leeds will look forward to improving their squad depth with Whittaker who is at a pretty low price considering his abilities. The winger scored 19 Championship goals last season and can be a perfect replacement for Summerville.
