Leeds Rhinos face a another injury setback as a key prop is out for the Wigan Warriors match.

Another injury blow has been dealt to the Rhinos.

Leeds Rhinos will be without Mikolaj Oledzki for Saturday’s game with Wigan Warriors. Rugby League Live understands the prop has succumbed to the rib injury picked up last month and will not play against the Warriors on Saturday.

The England international initially suffered the injury in the victory over Huddersfield Giants but played through the pain to feature against Salford Red Devils. However, the issue has now proven too serious, and he is not set to feature on Saturday, which will see the Rhinos without their regular starting prop.

Oledzki has played big minutes for Leeds under Brad Arthur but carried the ball less on Saturday than in any other game this season, a consequence of the injury he was suffering from.

Mickael Goudemand and Tom Nicholson-Watton appear to be the two likely candidates to replace Oledzki having both been named in the 21-man squad for the defeat to Salford last weekend.

Leeds take on the league leaders knowing their top six hopes are quickly disappearing. They are currently four points adrift of the top six with seven rounds of the season remaining. They still have to play the Warriors twice as well as Hull KR and Warrington Wolves, who are second and third respectively.

The Rhinos will also be without captain Cameron Smith for the contest due to suspension, while Tom Holroyd has been a long-term absentee.
