In their pivotal match against Essendon on Sunday to secure a spot in the top two, Fremantle Dockers defender Brennan Cox has faith in young midfielder Neil Erasmus to fill the vacuum left by suspended dual Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe.
Hard-nosed on-baller Erasmus, who is in his third season with the Dockers, has been bereft of opportunities since Fremantle selected him with the No. 10 choice in the 2021 AFL draft.
However, the young Gun, who has excelled in the WAFL, will have his opportunity now that superstar Fyfe has been handed a one-week suspension for hitting West Coast player Jai Culley during last weekend’s intense rivalry.
