Forward line from Fremantle energized by positive energy
Michael Frederick and Sam Switkowski are enamored with the optimistic vibes circulating inside the forwards group.

Forwards Michael Frederick and Sam Switkowski of Fremantle are enjoying playing with a bunch of players that are driven by hard work and positive spirit.

In the Club’s last three games (a 3-0 record), Fremantle has scored 85 points or more, with their 51-point triumph over Richmond on Saturday night at Optus Stadium in chilly and rainy circumstances being the highlight.

“I think it helps as a team when we are performing well us small forwards to get a little bit more of an opportunity to impact offensively,” pressure forward Sam Switkowski said on the Final Siren Podcast post-match.

“We are just sticking to what is important in our game which is our defence and our pressure which gives us good looks going the other way.

“Playing with people like Fred (Michael Frederick) and our other little strikers is great fun for me.

“Having a great time playing down there.”

Similarly, Josh Treacy, a former housemate and great friend, scored a career-high five goals, and Frederick could not contain his pleasure.

Frederick stated on the podcast, “I’ve had the honor of living with him for two and a half years…at the end there I gave him a big hug and just told him how proud I am of him.”

Every week, JT exhibits the same level of enthusiasm; he doesn’t try to take the lead or put too much pressure on himself; instead, he just works hard and gets things done.

“It’s nice when we do move the ball the way we do, he’s always ticking up at the footy but is (also) always working hard at the contest and then following up and getting down the ground.

“He’s put in a mountain of work… and he’s certainly come a long way.”

Treacy has kicked nine goals in the last three weeks, and now has 35 goals for the season (his career best) to sit sixth in the Coleman Medal race.
