For the first time, the Tigers coach has discussed Farah’s departure.

Benji Marshall, the head coach of the Wests Tigers, has announced that Robbie Farah will leave the team at the conclusion of the 2024 NRL season, however he has refuted rumors that he was replaced by an assistant coach with greater experience.

Under Benji Marshall, who took over for Tim Sheens in his debut season, the Tigers, who are currently bottom of the NRL table with eight weeks remaining in the season, are on course for their third wooden spoon this year. However, at times this season, the team has shown glimpses of life.

Farah’s departure, which was initially announced on Friday, was unexpected, but Marshall explained that it wasn’t about adding more expertise; rather, it was about the joint venture’s employees continuing to grow, as they had previously expressed a desire to become a development club.

“That has never been expressed before (more experience is needed). According to News Corp., Marshall informed the journalists on Saturday that it was something that had surfaced in the media.

“Coaching staff is constantly changing, and we’re continuously planning for the upcoming year. That discussion took place a few days ago.

“We’re anxious about the here and now because we have a game this weekend, but everyone else wants to concentrate on next year. The season is not over yet. We can talk about those issues when the time comes.

At this point, it’s uncertain who will take Farah’s place; however, it’s believed John Morris will stay with the Tigers through 2025.
