Chris Davies, the manager of Birmingham City, has made seven transfers, but more are planned.
After completing three acquisitions in a week, Chris Davies insists Birmingham City’s summer transfer window is far from over. On Saturday, Blues fans who traveled to Shrewsbury Town for their most recent preseason friendly got to see their first looks at Alex Cochrane and Willum Willumsson, who came earlier in the week. Christophe Klarer, who was announced on Saturday morning, was another newcomer, and he watched from the stands.

Even though the Blues have added seven players to their roster this summer—two goalkeepers, winger Emil Hansson, and striker Alfie May—Davies doesn’t think the club’s job is done, at least not yet. At the conclusion of the previous season, the Blues said goodbye to eighteen players, five of whom were on loan. Alex Pritchard was also let go.

In an ideal world, Davies would want to see two experienced players contend for every spot on the field. That may still entail a few defenders and a few more players with a strong forward mentality, but any other players who might depart—Jordan James, for example, would undoubtedly have attention from other teams—would need to be replaced going ahead. Although the new Blues manager is happy with what they’ve accomplished thus far, supporters should anticipate more.
