Chelsea is negotiating to reduce the teenager’s asking fee from Argentina.

According to sources, Chelsea and Boca Juniors, an Argentine team, are in negotiations to reduce Chelsea’s asking price for young defender Aaron Anselmino.

Under the current ownership, the Blues have been more active in the South American market, having previously signed players from the region like Estevao Willian, Andrey Santos, Kendry Paez, Angelo Gabriel, and Deivid Washington.

The Blues are still in the process of signing the top young players in the globe, and Anselmino seems to be their next target from South America.

Chelsea and Boca Juniors are haggling over Anselmino’s asking price.

The 19-year-old’s transfer from Boca Juniors to the Blues is said to have started last week. Argentine reports indicate the Blues made an initial approach of about £14 million, however Chelsea has not acknowledged this.

Anselmino rose through the ranks at the Argentine club, but large teams are taking an interest in him even though he has only made ten appearances for the main squad.

The Argentine, who is also a midfield player, committed to Boca until 2028 when he signed a new contract in January 2023.

Chelsea is attempting to bargain with Boca Juniors for a lesser price for Anselmino.
Although Simon Johnson of The Athletic has revealed that there is one issue with the agreement, Chelsea is eager to acquire Anselmino and is attempting to outbid any rivals.

He penned:

“Boca Juniors is willing to receive about £20 million for the defender Aaron Anselmino. Chelsea is negotiating, but for a less amount.
