Chelsea has scrapped the €17.5 million option; Romano details all

This summer, Chelsea is taking their time when it comes to signing strikers.

The elite players we had anticipated they would move for a year ago, such as Victor Osimhen and Victor Gyokeres, were among their first wave of targets.

Over time, however, it became evident that they were not being given much thought. The younger, less expensive stars, including Jhon Duran and Benjamin Sesko, followed next. However, the Blues have cautiously continued to weigh their alternatives and have not made any significant changes there either.

Serhou Guirassy and other experienced but affordable possibilities have been another alternative path. However, it appears that there is no more time on that front either.

An additional choice is shown.
Borussia Dortmund is reportedly very close to closing that transaction, according to Fabrizio Romano today:

After he agreed to the terms of the contract and the money, everything was set up for Guirassy to join Dortmund; however, there have been a lot of rumors about other teams, including Arsenal. According to what I gather, Arsenal never shown much interest in Guirassy since they are more interested in other players. Likewise, Chelsea, who were mentioned but never actually pursued Guirassy, the insider stated in his CaughtOffside-only Daily Briefing.
