After putting on a great show to get to the men’s doubles quarterfinals, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz resumed their quest for an Olympic gold medal in Paris.

On Roland Garros’ Court Suzanne-Lenglen, the Spanish dream team defeated the Dutch pair of Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof 6-4, 6-7(2), 10-2 in the second round of the 2024 Games.

After winning the first set and securing the sole break of the match, Nadal and Alcaraz lost a close second set in a tiebreak.

In the match tiebreak, the two then put on an incredible show as they decisively ended the match.

The Americans Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram, the fourth seeds, will meet the Spaniards in the final eight after they had not played doubles together prior to the Games.

After winning gold in the men’s doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympics with partner Marc Lopez, Rafael Nadal hopes to make history by being the first player to win two gold medals in the Open Era.
