BREAKING NEWS: Norwich City ‘turn down’ Galatasaray transfer offer for reported Leeds United target

Attacking midfielder Gabriel Sara is attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Premier League teams Crystal Palace and Leicester City
Signing another attacking midfielder features high on Daniel Farke’s summer shopping list. Joe Rothwell has arrived on a season-long loan from Bournemouth and it is hoped the former Southampton loanee will give them more goal threat in the middle of the pitch.
But United manager Farke has spoken of his desire to further bolster his midfield options, having lost the services of Archie Gray and Glen Kamara this summer. There is still plenty of time for the Whites to get more deals over the line, with the transfer window open until August 30.
Norwich City star Gabriel Sara emerged as a United transfer target over the weekend. Several Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace and Leicester City, are thought to be keen on signing the Brazilian.
Reports overnight from Turkey claim Galatasaray have had an offer rejected for Sara. Well-renowned Turkish journalist Yago Sabuncuoglu says Galatasaray had their first bid knocked back, claiming there is a difference of around £5m between the two sides.
Norwich reportedly want around €20million (£16.6m) for Sara, a ball-playing midfielder, and aren’t yet open to a sale, with head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup even handing him the armband in pre-season. When asked recently about Sara’s future, Thorup said: “We’ll leave transfer rumours and stuff like that for someone else. That’s not for me, that’s not for Gabby, we just continue improving and I think it was obvious in the game what he can offer.”
Sara, a versatile midfielder enjoyed a stellar campaign last time around as the Canaries qualified for the Championship play-offs. The 25-year-old had a hand in 25 goals, helping City to finish sixth in the regular league season.
