Another strong candidate to succeed Adam Simpson has chosen to remain with his present team.

Jaymie Graham, a former FREMANTLE assistant, is the most well-known contender to withdraw from consideration for the West Coast head coach position.

After parting ways with Adam Simpson last month, the Eagles announced this week the composition of the five-person committee that will choose his replacement; the process is anticipated to be finished in September.

Dean Cox, a champion West Coast ruckman and assistant coach for Sydney, and Josh Carr, an assistant coach for Port Adelaide, had already declared themselves out of the running, and now Graham, a former Eagle, has followed suit.

“I am really comfortable in what I am doing at Fremantle and I am really enjoying the ride that we are on and the journey we are on,” Graham said to ABC on Sunday.
