BREAKING: In-State RB Demon June Commits to UNC

The 5-foot-11, 215-pounder announces his college decision three weeks after being offered.

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — Running back is the one position that has evaded North Carolina this class. That is no longer the case: Demon June committed to the Tar Heels during an announcement ceremony at his high school on Friday.

The commitment comes three weeks after UNC had offered June, a 5-foot-11, 215-pounder from Jacksonville High. The offer was extended when he attended the “Carolympics,” a recruiting event the Tar Heels hosted before the Summer Dead Period resumed.

“… I love the staff [and] the genuine relationship I’ve built with Coach [Mack] Brown — each and every time I came up there, he’s just been a helping hand and I’ve been able to take something from him each time we’ve had an encounter,” June told Inside Carolina after returning home from the Carolympics. “Just the overall experience when I’m on campus, it just feels like no other place.”
