Breaking: Four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley goes to Florida State over Georgia and LSU.

Alpharetta, Georgia At a ceremony held on Tuesday at his school, Milton four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley chose Florida State over Georgia and LSU. Only a little more than 48 hours have passed since his formal visit to FSU. He intended to meet with his parents after leaving Tallahassee to choose the “best fit” and a location that “check[ed] all the boxes.”
For the 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver, it appears that FSU is that place. He selected the Seminoles over the Bulldogs, who were the popular choice during the last several months of his recruitment, and the Tigers, where his mother also attended and his father was an All-SEC defensive end from 1994 to 1997.
Wiley took a Florida State hat off the table and announced, “With all that said, I’ll be attending the University of Florida State.” “Go ‘Noles.”
The room appeared stunned and waiting for a switch in the final moment, as cheers didn’t come until after he began chopping while wearing the hat.
He then was asked why FSU was the choice by the moderator.
“They’ve recruited me since I was a freshman,” Wiley said. “We’ve really built the trust in the process. I believe I can achieve my goals over there.”
Needless to say, this is a major win for Mike Norvell and company. All of the predictions on the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball were for Georgia. He had also considered the likes of Alabama, Auburn , USC, and more in the process.
As a junior, he had 68 receptions for 1,473 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 21.7 yards per catch. He is a long, lanky pass catcher with an excellent catch radius and good long speed. FSU values him as someone they can move around the field and use in a variety of ways.
“They told me I’d be playing outside and inside, so they compare me like to Keon [Coleman] and Johnny [Wilson]. Sometimes they played inside and outside, so yeah, like move around,” Wiley said this weekend.
“Plays a big role because you would just want to play more than one like spot on the field. It just proves you are more valuable,” he added.
FSU worked hard to land Wiley. He stepped on campus last October for a game. That is where the two parties became heavily involved with one another. They had him in for a Junior Day in January of this year and back for an unofficial visit on April 2nd. They wrapped it up with an official visit within the last week.
He is the first wide receiver commitment for the Seminoles in the 2025 class. He becomes the sixth commitment in FSU’s class and third on the offensive side of the ball, joining Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. and Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Solomon Thomas. Wiley is ranked by the 247Sports.com Composite Recruiting Rankings as the No. 136 overall prospect and No. 15 wide receiver in the 2025 class. He is considered the No. 19 prospect in the Peach State for his class.
247Sports.com is slightly lower on him, as they rank him at No. 223 overall, No. 25 at his position, and as the No. 32 wide receiver in the nation.
