As has already been widely known, FC Barcelona is working tirelessly to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club.

The Blaugrana’s top priority right now is the 22-year-old La Liga winger; in fact, all other alternatives have been put on hold until the Nico operation is concluded.

The UEFA Euro 2024 champion has been offered a contract, and Barça is anxiously awaiting the player’s and his camp’s response as he considers staying at Athletic or joining PSG in addition to joining the Catalans.
It will cost €62 million to operate.
As previously mentioned, Nico Williams’ contract with Athletic Club has a €58 million release clause, which Barcelona is ready to activate as soon as the Spanish international gives the all-clear.

But a recent report from Mundo Deportivo claims that the Catalans will have to pay a total of €62 million to secure the speedster.

This is due to the fact that the winger’s €58 million release clause will require a matching increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is anticipated to cost about €4 million, making the deal’s total value €62 million.
Barcelona is certain that all the necessary arrangements are in place to enable them to pay that sum, and Nico has received confirmation from the sports department that his registration will not present any difficulties.

In fact, Deco has been assured by the board of directors that everything is under control and Nico may register for La Liga without any issues.

The Catalan powerhouses are still awaiting Nico’s ultimate decision, which might come at any time.

In order to incorporate the forward into Hansi Flick’s team as soon as possible, the Camp Nou offices would prefer to see a favorable result as soon as feasible.
