@jordancronin_: Eddie Howe’s pre AFC Wimbledon press conference has been CANCELLED. Highly likely tomorrow’s game will be called off due to significant flooding at Plough Lane. Awaiting confirmation from the EFL. #NUFC”
@ChrisDHWaugh: #NUFC’s press conference ahead of the proposed trip to AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup tomorrow has been cancelled, with the game highly likely to be postponed as well due to flooding in & around the ground. Unclear what happens if it is postponed in terms of rescheduling.
@JasonBourne1986: AFC Wimbledon v Newcastle appears to be in some doubt tomorrow. Newcastle have cancelled today’s press conference. Suggestions to us pitch will be unplayable tomorrow. Flooding in the area too. @talkSPORT
@DomScurr: Here at the #NUFC media centre where Eddie Howe’s pre match press conference has been CANCELLED. AFC Wimbledon match in serious doubt with the pitch at Plough Lane unplayable due to flooding around the ground. Further information will follow in due course.
@dansheridan: Logistics would be a headache, but surely switching our @Carabao_Cup tie with @AFCWimbledon to St. James’ Park is at least on the table? Move it to Wednesday, make it free for ST holders and fly the opposition up as a gesture of goodwill. Got to be better than a bye #NUFC
@CharIieBennett: Tough to work out when the game will be rescheduled. Wimbledon do not have a free week until October 12-19. While their season continues, several Newcastle players will be on international duty. Fourth round starts on October 28. Glad I’m not in charge. #NUFC
