A brief highlight of Robert Redford and sports….
Actor, director, producer, businessman, environmentalist, and philanthropist Robert Redford is also an avid sports fan. Redford played the role of a U.S. Olympic skier in Downhill Racer (1969), a ballplayer in The Natural (1984)—regarded as one of the most iconic sports movies of all time—and directed The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) about a down-and-out golfer who attempts to recover his game and his life with help from a mystical caddy.
In celebration of the Hollywood legend’s 80th birthday on Aug. 18, 2016, here’s a look at Robert Redford in the world of sports.
