According to one commentator, Manchester United’s loss is Chelsea’s gain, after reviewing the recent form of one Blues player this season.

Since signing for Chelsea in the summer, Jadon Sancho’s fortunes have been steadily improving. He came in and shone right away, and he’s been consistently good thus far in a Blues jersey. He appears joyful, speaks as if he is the most content and happy he has ever been, and it appears that he has finally found his home.

At United he was treated poorly by the then manager Erik Ten Hag, and he ended up going out on loan to Dortmund last season, where he was actually pretty good too. But at Chelsea he has elevated and for me, is playing the best football of his life so far.

Danny Murphy, a pundit, wrote a story for The Daily Mail today regarding Sancho’s early success at Chelsea.

Murphy says:

“If things had gone differently, Jadon Sancho would have played in the Manchester derby, but United’s loss is Chelsea’s gain.

“I enjoy seeing young players overcome difficulties, and Sancho has been a pleasure to watch this season. England’s World Cup qualifiers begin in March, and if he maintains his current form, he could be called up by new boss Thomas Tuchel.

“A fit and confident Sancho is valuable to any club. He possesses amazing balance, which allows him to glide across the pitch. His versatility is an advantage in the current game; he can beat a man right or left.”

“By the time United elected to keep Erik ten Hag last summer, Sancho’s head was already out the door after facing so much vitriol and criticism at Old Trafford. As a former player, I can notice the change in his body language now that he wears Chelsea’s blue. He’s fitter, has more energy, and it’s as if a burden of expectation and pressure has been lifted off his shoulders.”
