LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) – The NFL’s only shareholder-owned team is around the middle of the pack in terms of value, according to a Forbes list.

On Thursday, Forbes released a list called “The NFL’s Most Valuable Teams 2024″, which looked at estimated 2023 season revenue and operating income, team enterprise values, and valuations from team executives, league consultants, and sponsorship and broadcasting executives, as well as public documents like stadium leases.

The Packers came in at #13, with a value of $5.6 billion, a 22% increase from the previous year, and an operating income of $60 million.

The team in the #1 spot was the same as it was in Forbes’ 1998 poll: the Dallas Cowboys. In 1998 they had a value of $413 million, and this year they’re valued at $10.1 billion, an increase of 2,346%. That’s nearly a 90% increase in value per year.

Across the league, every team in the NFL is now worth at least $4 billion. The difference between the Packers and the Cowboys on the list is 3 times bigger than the difference between the Packers and the 32nd team on the list, the Cincinnati Bengals with a value of $4.1 billion. The gap between the Cowboys and the #2 ranked Rams is $2.5 billion. The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are #24, with a value of $4.85 billion and a 13% change from last season.

For the NFC North, the Chicago Bears are the most valuable in the division with a value of $6.4 billion, but only a 2% increase since last year. The Minnesota Vikings come in at #21, valued at $5.05 billion, and the Detroit Lions are #31, with a value of $4.15 billion.
