LSU Acquires Two Defensive Linemen
Even though Friday Night Lights camp is still in progress, LSU is beginning to see some positive effects from the recruiting event.
Two defensive line commits, one for the 2025 class and the other for the 2026 class, have been added to the Tigers.
Let’s begin with the commitment for 2025. Jesse Harrold, a four-star edge rusher from the Tampa area, committed to LSU on Saturday. Harrold is both the first recruiting success for new EDGE coach Kevin Peoples and LSU’s first 2025 defensive line commit.
Standing 6’5″ and 207 pounds, Harrold is rated as a top-10 player at both his position and as the 66th overall prospect by On3. He chose LSU over Texas A&M, Florida, Miami, Auburn, and other schools.
NFL Playoffs: The Super Bowl
The Rose Bowl is a special occasion. Among the most esteemed bowl games in college football history is this one. Fans and members of the media have referred to the game as “The Grandaddiest of them All” for years. The 2018 meeting between the Georgia Bulldogs, ranked third, and the Oklahoma Sooners, rated second, more than lived up to the hype. This playoff matchup, which had a chance to go to the national championship, was intense from beginning to end. There was no greater contrast between the two teams. The game featured jaw-dropping plays, absurd lead changes, and crucial turnovers due to Georgia’s stifling defense and Oklahoma’s fast-paced offense.
This week, Harrold becomes the second student added to LSU’s 2025 class. Additionally, LSU added Carius Curne, the top interior offensive lineman in the country, on Thursday. After bringing in Curne and Harrold, LSU’s 2025 class is now ranked No. 2 in the country, while Ohio State is now the school with the largest lead.
It’s never too early to start thinking about recruiting, so LSU started working on its class of 2026. Presenting Richard Anderson, a four-star defensive lineman.
After attending the Tigers’ Friday Night Lights camp, Anderson chose LSU as well. Anderson provides Brian Kelly and the staff with their first recruit of the 2026 class. Anderson, a rising junior, chose LSU over Florida State, Oregon, USC, and Ole Miss.
Anderson performs at Edna Karr and is a native of New Orleans. He is teammates with some other LSU targets, most notably Corey Adams and Aiden Hall, and plays alongside TaRon Francis, who has committed to LSU. Hall is a four-star safety in the 2026 class, and Adams is a three-star defensive line prospect for 2025.
