The latest Newcastle United transfer news as the Crystal Palace centre-back has emerged as a clear target but the club have seen a fourth bid turned down for the defender.
Newcastle United may be forced to walk away from a potential move for Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi.
The club have seen a fourth bid, reported to be north of £70million, rejected by the Eagles, with the move now turning into a transfer saga. Palace are said to be holding out for bigger bids from other clubs in the January window.
If Guehi continues to impress in the Premier League, Palace may feel that they can get close to the £80million Leicester City got for Harry Maguire from Manchester United back in 2019.
That could force Newcastle to walk away and move onto alternative targets in the final two weeks of the transfer window. The club have been linked with several defenders since the start of the window.
