Following rumors of a move, the Reading FC management confirmed Femi Azeez’s “injury.”
Winger Femi Azeez was forced to miss the Royals’ opening day trip to Birmingham City due to a back issue, according to Reading FC’s Ruben Selles.
During his pregame press conference on Thursday, Selles discussed the injury concerns surrounding Kelvin Abrefa and Jeriel Dorsett, but he did not specifically mention Azeez.
Several supporters speculated that Azeez would be sold by the team after he was left off the roster. Throughout this summer transfer window, a number of Championship teams, including Millwall, Plymouth Argyle, Stoke City, and others, have shown interest in signing the 23-year-old.
In his post-match press conference, Selles refuted rumors that he is not happy at the team after the squad’s outstanding performance against Birmingham.
“He (Azeez) felt something in his back in training yesterday, so he went inside,” the speaker stated.
“It’s not a single player; there’s no issue.
