Birmingham City has reportedly accepted an offer from Rennes for midfielder Jordan James, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The club has experienced one of its most profitable transfer windows in recent history as they aim to secure an immediate return to the Championship.

Chris Davies, a former Tottenham Hotspur coach, is in charge of guiding them there once more. He has been given this significant task in his first senior management position by the Blues.

The striking newcomers to St. Andrew’s have garnered much of the attention, but it’s likely that some players will leave before the window closes at 11 p.m. on August 30.

Jordan James is one of those expected to go on, and it appears that a departure is imminent.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports on X that Birmingham City has accepted a bid for midfield sensation James from Ligue 1 team Rennes. A deal over personal terms is anticipated to follow after the offer, which was made on Thursday morning and promptly accepted.

Before the move is accomplished, the 20-year-old will now have a medical exam in the upcoming days.

Furthermore, if the club had let his contract to expire earlier, it might have resulted in a decline in his value because it included a one-year contract with a 12-month extension possibility.

Davies’ midfield positions
Birmingham City will be saddened to lose a player of James’ caliber, but it was a necessary transfer, and the team has acquired enough of midfield talent to replace him.
