Duke moves in Brandon Johnson is displaying early leadership potential in the Ducks secondary and is demonstrating a rapid assimilation of Oregon’s system.
EUGENE — Brandon Johnson plays nickel, also referred to as star, the most difficult and critical defensive position in football.
One of four transfers in the secondary to join the Oregon Ducks this offseason, Johnson is the only one of them to arrive in the summer. The Duke transfer has vast experience as a starter in the ACC, where he made 56 tackles (8.5 for loss) with two sacks and four pass breakups last season, but comes to Oregon without the benefit of spring practice.
