Siriki Dembele struggled to secure a starting spot under Chris Davies in League One during Birmingham City’s miserable 2023–2024 season, which ended in their relegation from the Championship.

Dembele left Bournemouth last July on a three-year contract. During his eighteen months there, he assisted the team in winning promotion to the Premier League as runners-up in 2021–2022.

Arriving at St Andrew’s in the midst of a flurry of new signings, the 27-year-old winger made an impression early in the season but was eventually benched by interim manager Gary Rowett as Birmingham failed to avoid relegation. This was due to managerial changes and decisions.

Despite his limited playing time and the team’s dismal season, Dembele nevertheless managed to record six goals and one assist in 33 league games during his rookie campaign in B9. Nevertheless, he will be hoping for a new lease on life.

Dembele needs to earn an opportunity with Birmingham City.
