With a fresh report on the player’s condition, Birmingham City looks to have lost out on a summer transfer target to Sheffield Wednesday of the Championship.

In order to strengthen their roster in advance of their League One comeback, the Blues have been active throughout this transfer window, acquiring seven new players thus far.

Alfie May, the top scorer in League One, left Charlton Athletic for this highly publicized move, even though a deal with fellow demoted team Huddersfield Town appeared to be near. But unlike Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United can provide an instant promotion to the Championship, something Birmingham cannot, and they have been working on a deal for some time. Since they have already added Christoph Klarer to the center back position, it is likely that they will look for other defensive reinforcements during this transfer window.

On August 10, they play Reading in their first League One match. Despite their early success, it is obvious that they still have work to do as the team can field a team that most League One teams would be jealous of. There’s a reason they are the league favorites.
