SAD NEWS: Julian Strawther will not play for the Denver Nuggets the remainder of NBA Summer League.

It appears that he will produce much more in his second season.

The sophomore standout proved that he no longer needs to compete in Las Vegas after just two games. If he kept going with the Denver Nuggets, Julian Strawther could’ve been the favorite for the NBA Summer League MVP.

Strawther in his hometown averaged 28.5 PPG (1st in NBA Summer League) on 42.5 FG%/40.9 3PT%, 4.0 RPG, 3.0 APG and 1.5 SPG in 33.8 MPG. He was also dealing with a minor ankle injury throughout most of those two games. Mike Malone must be impressed and contemplating whether he should move Strawther up in his rotation heading into Year 2.

He only averaged 10 minutes off the bench in his rookie season but can add a significant offensive burst for the Nuggets given what we have seen. That is even more true now based on the fact that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was traded to the Orlando Magic this offseason.
