After a humiliating 37–18 loss to the Argos in front of 18,088 Molson Stadium fans, Montreal is no longer unbeaten.

Every professional football team’s worst nightmare is losing its starting quarterback. The Alouettes realized those worries on Thursday night.

After going 62 yards on his first five throws against the Toronto Argonauts, Cody Fajardo was hurt in the hamstring near the end of the first quarter. Fajardo attempted a pass for Reggie White Jr. but it was incomplete as he rolled to his right. RDS sideline reporter Didier Orméjuste heard Fajardo screaming in agony during the play. He promptly hurried to the changing room and clutched his right hamstring. He never showed back.

It usually takes four to six weeks to heal from a pulled hamstring, though it’s impossible to tell how serious the damage is at first. Expect Fajardo to miss at least one game, if not more, despite the team’s impending bye week. The Als might struggle to stay competitive without him.

In front of 18,088 fans at Molson Stadium, Montreal suffered a humiliating 37–18 loss to the Argos, ending their winning streak. The Als, who were playing their second game in five days, ended a 13-game winning streak that included the playoffs and the Grey Cup. They currently have a 5-1 record and have not lost since September 15.
