Sheffield Wednesday’s most recent recruit James Beadle is destined to become a prominent player in the industry. Danny Röhl, who was thrilled to sign the Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper as his eighth recruit of an already busy summer, feels that way.

After starring in his initial loan stint with the Owls in the second half of the previous campaign, Beadle is back at Hillsborough. In the last few weeks of the season, Wednesday managed to escape the bottom three of the second division thanks in large part to the 19-year-old’s eight Championship clean sheets.

Because of this, Wednesday has already brought in a goalkeeper in Ben Hamer, who played in the team’s 2-0 victory over Alfreton Town on Saturday. However, it appears that Beadle was always someone Röhl intended to have return to the team this summer.

“I think when we looked at the details from the second leg of the season, we had nine clean sheets and that’s crucial when you want to win games especially in this league,” Röhl stated. It was also a significant advancement in his career.

“Although he is still a young goalie, he has a lot of experience under his belt and a positive mentality. He remains composed under pressure. I have no doubt that he will rise to prominence in football in the future.

“I believe that the players who have stayed, extended their contracts, or returned understand the culture of high performance we established the previous season, what I expect of them as a coach, and also the human side of me.
