Brendan Rodgers offered Celtic fans a bit of hope today with his tease on transfers.

The Northern Irishman seemed confident of landing some incomings soon, or at least before the end of the window, and one of those is Adam Idah. The Hoops made a second bid for the Norwich City man this week and the manager was quizzed on the situation today.

Celtic have reportedly enquired to Crystal Palace about the availability of the versatile midfielder. The 31-year-old made 29 Premier League appearances last season but many of them from the bench and the Daily Mail is reporting the Hoops have made their move. It’s not stated whether that’s a loan or a permanent but a loan would seem the most likely.

Schlupp can play left-back and so that move could be as a result of Hugo Bueno closing in a loan elsewhere. Brendan Rodgers wanted the Wolves man, 21, to provide competition for Greg Taylor but he won’t be providing the solution to the left-back problem. That’s because he’s set to join Feyenoord on loan instead.

Adam Idah

Rodgers admitted today he is hopeful of signing Idah. And that comes after Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup seemed more open to the idea than he previously was. The Hoops lodged an improved transfer offer yesterday and it’s looking like they’re getting closer to the Canaries’ valuation.
